Transition

In one week my life will take a dramatic change. Next Sunday, February 21st will be my last as the Children's Pastor at First Baptist Columbia. Where will I be going? North Carolina.

On February 7, 2010, I was voted in as the new pastor of David Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. This past week has been very emotional for me and my family. The Spirit moved in a tremendous way the day that I preached at David Baptist. The atmosphere of the entire service was filled with Him. I pray that DBC will be a church where that is present every week. With God holding me accountable for that from now on, I sure hope that is the case!

The following Monday I had to announce to my boss, staff, and friends that I was leaving FBC. That was a very emotional day as well. My wife and I really love the people at First Baptist and we will be leaving some really good friends.

But we know that the Lord has without a doubt called me to preach, pastor, and love another congregation now. And that excites us.

To those dear friends at First Baptist: thank you for loving and supporting us for these past few years. Please continue to check this blog as I will be sharing weekly what God is teaching me and the people at DBC.

To those dear people at David Baptist: pray for our family as we make our way up there and be ready for David Baptist Church to be a place where Jesus is King!

We will also be praying for the congregation you are leaving, that God will guide them to the person who would fill the shoes left behind and continue to minister to the children, and their parents in a mighty way.
